The MBTA

CharlieCards are reusable cards that can be loaded with cash value or passes to pay bus and subway fares. CharlieCards are available at select MBTA subway stations.

The CharlieCard is best for frequent subway and bus riders.  The card allows customers to easily tap into stations and vehicles, and online card management and protection make it even easier to stay in control of how you travel.

The CharlieCard is not valid on Commuter Rail or ferry.

The MBTA Commuter Rail system serves as the commuter rail arm of the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority's transportation coverage of Greater Boston in the United States. Trains run over 398 miles of track to 141 different stations, with 58 stations on the north side with the remaining 83 stations on the south.

Trains originate at two major terminals in Boston—South Station and North Station—with both transportation hubs offering connections to Amtrak, local bus,  and subway lines.

Origin and destination stations are not individually priced, but assigned a zone based on distance from Boston. There are a total of eleven zones (1A, 1-10)

The MBTA boat or MBTA ferry system is a public boat service providing water transportation in Boston Harbor. The system consists of three routes that terminate in downtown Boston.

F1 service runs from Rowes Wharf to Hewitt's Cove in Hingham. F2H service runs from Long Wharf to Hewitt's Cove, with some trips stopping at Logan Airport, Pemberton Point in Hull, and/or some of the Boston Harbor Islands. F4 service runs in the inner harbor between Long Wharf and the Charlestown Navy Yard. Two additional seasonal routes, not funded by the MBTA but included on some MBTA documents, run from Boston to Salem and Winthrop.

CharlieTicket and mTicket are accepted.
