Principal
Matthew is from Trumbull, Connecticut and attended Boston University. After graduating college, Matthew stayed in Boston and never plans to leave the area. As a senior in college, he began a publishing company that put out real estate, apartment rental, and roommate magazines. These opportunities introduced him to hundreds of contacts in the real estate community as well as ancillary fields such as banking, inspections, and real estate law. In the mid 1990s, Matthew started a real estate company that today has two offices: one in Brookline, and one in Jamaica Plain, Prudential Unlimited Real Estate. He is a silent partner but participates in corporate development and consultation. Matthew began buying, managing and developing real estate in the early to mid 1990s. At first he bought condominiums, three family houses and small projects. Now over 20 years later, he owns over 200 residential units, has completed dozens of condominium conversions, acquisition-renovation-management situations, and renovated and sold numerous assets and properties, has developed dozens of projects and has bought and sold over 50 million dollars worth of property in the area. Matthew is still involved with the two Prudential offices. Currently, he oversees the management of the Newman Properties portfolio and is seeking new acquisitions.
Property Management
Damari has been in the real estate field for over seven years and is a licensed in real estate sales. Damari was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico and has been a resident of Boston for over 20 years. She is bilingual in Spanish and English, as well as being highly personable, creative and hardworking. She is very knowledgable in all aspects of real estate, has a perfect mix of skills and character, and has outstanding organizational skills. She is hands on and always willing to take on new challenges. She handles property management and apartment rentals as well as assisting in company administrative duties.
Property Management
Mariana has been been in retail and financial services for 7 years. She is now exploring the world of real estate.
She was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and has been a resident of Boston for over 20 years. She is bilingual in English and Portuguese and is currently learning Spanish. She's family oriented and loves taking her Puggle Maya and Golden Retriever Rocky for walks. She is outgoing, extremely organized and motivated. Mariana handles property management and apartment rentals as well as assisting in company administrative duties.
Executive Assistant
Sara is from Newton, Massachusetts and attended University of Hartford. After graduation Sara has spent many years working in the hospitality business on Martha’s Vineyard. Sara is active and has a passion for music and fitness. She currently resides in Newton with her two boys and her West Highland terrier. Sara loves working in real estate and is exploring the world of property management.
Consultant to Management
Betsey has been in the real estate and finance fields for over 8 years. Betsey was born in Seoul, Korea and adopted as an infant. She grew up on the North Shore with her Greek and Scottish parents and now lives in Cambridge. She is hardworking and loves a challenge, personally and professionally. She is extremely family orientated and has 2 daughters and is planning a 2013 wedding. Betsey is exploring the many aspects property management as well as helping with the administrative duties of the office.
Bookkeeping and Accounting
Phylis was born in New Jersey but moved to Watertown, Massachusetts as a child and has lived here ever since. At Newman Properties, she has worked in bookkeeping and accounting for over 10 years and has a master's degree from Bentley University in accounting. In addition, she has a property and casualty insurance broker’s license. Phylis is thorough and detailed driven, her hard work and efficient methods keep Newman Properties running smoothly. Phylis has three children and two granddaughters filling up all the rest of her free time.
Web Designer
Through her creativity and thoughtful design, Lisa's design and brand development has allowed the website to stand out. Lisa was born in Paris, France and currently lives in Boston. She graduated as a web designer from the Boston University Center for the Digital Imaging Arts. In her spare time, Lisa enjoys arts, movies, friends, and traveling.
Social Media and Marketing Intern
My name is Matilda Ivarsson, born and partially raised in Stockholm Sweden. For eight years my family and I lived abroad; four years in Paris, France and four years in Wellesley, MA. I love travelling and exploring new places and cultures. That is partially the reason why I chose to come to Suffolk University in Boston to study. I am currently a PR major and marketing minor. Having just started my internship with Newman Properties I am really excited to gain some hands on experience!
Outside Management
Kevin from Cleaning Services Plus handles our Auburn Property. Kevin has been with us since Newman Properties acquired the property. He is very experienced and is from the Auburn area. He is skilled in all types of property maintenance and management.
Outside Management
Newman Properties uses the McDermotts of Family Crest Management for over 15 years. They handle management of the Brighton, Allston, Mission Hill and East Boston properties. They are highly skilled, reliable and handle all aspects of management and maintenance. They are very attentive, treat our tenants well, and respond quickly and have connections with reliable subcontractors for all situations.
