Village Green Apartments are located directly on Main Street in downtown Hyannis. The building is recognized as a historic building, built in 1924 as a Masonic Lodge and turned into apartments in the mid 1980s. Village Green offers the best location on Cape Cod for year-round living. It stands on the Hyannis town green, directly in front of Town Hall and in the middle of downtown Hyannis. Next door to the Village Green is the famous JFK Museum. Also, don't miss the views of the town stage where you can enjoy various performances all summer long.
Hyannis is the largest of seven villages in the town of Barnstable, Massachusetts, on Cape Cod. It is the commercial and transportation hub of Cape Cod and was designated an urban area as a result of the 1990 census.
The nearest inter-city Amtrak passenger rail stations are Boston's South Station and Providence. The Kingston/Route 3 and Middleborough/Lakeville stations of the MBTA's commuter rail system provide the closest direct service to Boston. The MBTA is considering the extension of commuter rial service to Hyannis in the near future.
Hyannis is home to Barnstable High School, the largest high school on Cape Cod. Other highschools include Sturgis Charter Public School, a charter school featuring the International Baccalaureate program, and Pope John Paul II High School, the first and only college preparatory Catholic high school on Cape Cod. Trinity Christian Academy, which recently opened a high school, is located in Hyannis. Saint Francis Xavier Preparatory School, SFXP for short, is a prep middle school. Cape Cod Community College, in nearby West Barnstable, is a two-year community college, known locally as "4-Cs."
